Slow down
Trying to be in the loop right now is a mess.
Information is moving faster than are fingers are built to type and our ears are constructed to pick up.
Someone has to pull the break soon. We are information junkies. I’m glad there is more then one in this band. I don’t understand how you handle information on your own.
Cutting down on information channels is a start. Choose who you...

We are currently constructing. Building bridges and laying out tracks. Reading and learning new things. Turning things around. Looking at the things we do from another perspective. And the things we have done. Unlearning old habits to make room for new ones. We are finally at ease with our selfs. Watching the world fall around us. Pointing at it while calmly saying “we told you so”.

WE don’t have a society worth fighting for before everyones included and made equal on all levels. Torpedo congratulates all New Yorkers on this small but important step towards a better world.

Tonight we will kick of our german tour with a show at Project 7 in our second home town Magdeburg. Since the apocalyptical prophecies of the nutty priest of the big republic in the west went terribly wrong we can start our own prophecy tonight.
This is the new era. The era of WE.
For all our lives we haven't cared one bit about... →

Edward Burtynsky
A year ago when we were gathering art, movies, sounds and photos to our inspiration map for the upcoming recording of WE. Among many other great artists we discovered Burtynsky and his beautiful work. Over the last ten years he has travelled the world photographing the terrible damage oil is doing to our world. It’s weird how such how such awful and terrifying things can be so beautiful.

Judgment day
We woke up this morning and the world was still here. Nothing had happened. No apocalypse, no judgment day. Disappointing in a way. It was even a beautiful day. A sunny and beautiful day. Complete mockery. All this worrying, all this reading, blogging and songwriting in vain. The end of Torpedo? Absolutely not. Just like all fellow doom prophets and fanatics we have an excuse. A great one. The...

WE are Torpedo. A group who believe in the power of the collective. Who believe in that a society filled with narcissistic, non-reflecting individuals will go down in flames. Torpedo could not have created WE and WE would never have seen the light of day (ot the dark of night if you prefer) without help from others.
Christoffer, Fredrik, Carl, Leon, Chris, Johan, Nico and all of you who have...

It´s tuesday 12.00 and I´m heading off to work.
Ten minutes ago a shower-scene just as frightening as the one in Psycho took place but there was no killer with a kitchen knife sneaking up on me.
All that happen was I turned off the water after showering too long and I heard both the dishwasher och washingmachine running at the same. And behing the humming they both created I heard the news on...

Cold, grey far-right winds are blowing over Scandinavia. Finland is the latest country to have a racist party entering their parliament. This is very disturbing, frightening and in the end extremely dangerous. WE strongly believe that to be able to survive what’s ahead of us we need to stick together and unite. If this trend that Sannfinländarnna, Sverigedemokraterna, Fremskrittspartiet...

THE RECORD IS DEAD. LONG LIVE THE RECORD. The apocalypse of music.

As WE say, technology won’t save us - it will bury us. At least that’s very clear when it comes to all those beautiful record stores that we all have spent our so many precious hours and dollars in. Sadly a big chunk...

It’s Friday, spring is in the air and the world has never been more beautiful. Tonight we take a brake from the apocalypse and try to have some fun. Tonight we pretend that everything is alright and that it will stay like this forever. All our friends will be down at the bar, we will go there and we will remember the good times.
Sometimes you forget about the good times. That they exist....

About taxes, the power of the collective and the weakness of the individual. For most swedish people this is very exciting times. We get our tax return. Doesn’t sound very exciting but for most people this means we’re getting a few free bucks around midsummer to spend on schnaps and herring. Hip hooray!
And as seems, next year the swedes can look forward to even more money to spend....

The domino game of Europe. What piece falls next?
Sitting in your worn out underwear, drinking coffee and reading the paper has never been scarier. Everyday starts with a dark lump of fear growing in my stomach. Before I just jumped to the funny pages and read some bad record reviews to ease my mind. I’m having serious trouble doing that lately. I can’t ignore these news screaming...

the beauty of not being first
When I was young and still in school we always stood in line before walking together to have lunch. Those days when we had a substitute teacher everbody ignored the rules and ran as fast as they could to be fed, creating as total chaos.
I hated those days.
As soon as our teacher came back I could once again stand in line and calmly walk the trough the corridors...

We know it’s Sunday, you’re hung over and all you want to do is watch “Dumb and dumber “. But before you do, all we’re asking of you is to watch this trailer. You don’t even have to watch the full movie to understand the stupidity of nuclear energy.
And yes, Jim Carrey is the best actor in the world.

Last night a notion of fear and despair struck me, slightly below my left eye to be precise. I was walking home from a few drinks with a couple of friends when a van pulls up in front of me. Out of the van, out of nowhere, comes this clearly pissed off, for reasons not so clear, I’ll fuck you up for life - fellow. He punched me. In the face. That was the first time for me. I’ve always...

A glimpse into a future not too far away and a story, although born from fiction, which has many parables too what our world may look like one day
“He doesn’t know which is worse, a past he can’t regain or a present that will destroy him if he looks at it too clearly”.
WE recommend Oryx and Crake for anyone who wants a twisted apocalyptic story about love, friendship...
Peak Oil →
16/20
Nicole Foss, Michael C Ruppert and several others talks alot about peak oil. This is something we all should learn about. It might just be the key to insight and survival. We must get out of our oil dependancy right now. Actually we should have started doing that decades ago. Better late than never, I hope.
It’s not just gasoline we need to learn to be without. I’ve always...

This arrived in the mail today.
When Titanic sank the band just kept on playing when everyone else was running for the life boats. In an attempt to avoid going down in the same manners, we ordered this book by James Wesley, Rawles:

These are numbers that don’t apply to the industry anymore but it’s well worth reading.
